Ernest's artwork is classified as abstract representationalism — an interpretation of reality, with elements of abstraction. His imagery often reminds us that life is a balance between the grotesque and the playful. His topsy-turvy world of animals and cockeyed distortion of reality can be recited as clear as a nursery rhyme...

Ernest attended Barat College in Lake Forest, Illinois. He graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in drawing. He has exhibited in Wisconsin at the Flying Pig in Algoma, the Francis Hardy in Ephraim, Charlene's Gallery Ten in Gills Rock, and The Miller Art Museum in Sturgeon Bay. In 2007 Ernest was selected to be part of the Peninsula Art School Emerging Artist Program. In Door County, Wisconsin his artwork is represented by The Paint Box Gallery in Ephraim and The Mill Road Gallery in Sister Bay. His art is also represented by Helanders in Lake Forest, Illinois.

More recently Ernest has received an opportunity to teach Middle School at Southern Door in Brussels, Wisconsin. In January 2011 he opened a new chapter in his life by completing his student teaching through Silver Lake College in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. Now a licensed art instructor, Ernest takes a flying leap toward a new adventure, while maintaining a career as a professional artist.
